Can You Really Prevent Cancer?
When someone in the family has cancer, even though it is not the death sentence that it might once have been, it still hits hard physically, emotionally and in other ways, including financially. Four out of every ten Americans will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their life, and half of those will die from it.
But there are ways that you can improve your chances. Some of them are fairly well known – even if it is hard to discipline yourself. Losing weight, stopping smoking, reducing or eliminating alcohol consumption and eating well are ways that are always on the list.
But aside from simple lifestyle steps like these, Americans would do well to prevent their exposure to potentially cancer causing chemicals that may be present in their everyday lives. By reducing this exposure, each person protects themselves from carcinogenic substances and betters their chances of avoiding this serious illness.
