Grief

Posted in Group:

This website offers such freedom of expression and offers the opportunity to air out the proverbial closet fairly safely. My dear aunt and godmother passed away last week of metastatic breast cancer, peacefully in her daughter's arms. (my cousin). This event hits a litle close to home, since my own mother has the same diagnosis. It is scary and very close to home. I am a final year med student and as luck would have it we were rotating at breast and endocrine surgery last week. I got the news just before academic ward rounds and had to plow through it without batting an eye, looking many terminal patients in the eye as i did so. It was pure hell. My aunt was buried today, and i wasn't there, because my course allows no time grief, no, I spent the day in theatre. Its hard, sometimes. Really hard - i fear for my mom and i've become quite paranoid about getting breast cancer myself since it is so strongly familial in our family. As for my aunt, i haven't even had a chance to shed a tear, i just have a spliting headache constantly and lead in my ankles. I love all of you guys in this group-be brave and keep fighting. If anyone can support in this area i would appreciate it so much.

Always say a prayer for your mom and the family. Have faith and believe in God. Fear and worries do block our hope. Wishing you health and happiness. God bless you.
